Brothers Frank and Mike King spent their winter on the road to film this 8-minute powder-filled short.
I first met the brothers King, Frank and Mike, on an urban trip to Slovenia with Ahmet Dadali in 2014. Two genuinely “nice guys” who work their family orchard in Michigan in the summer in order to ski all winter, the Kings showed themselves to be a solid team on the ski-filmmaking front with Mike in action and Frank behind the camera.
Last season Frank and Mike spent most of their time on the road in a truck camper with snowmobiles in tow, plundering the backcountry goods of the Pacific Northwest. Their trip is showcased in this 8-minute short, “King of the Road.” If you’ve ever wanted to take a winter off, load up the car and hit the road—this is one example of what you might find.
