The view of the Tyrolean Alps is stunning. Even more impressive, when the Alpine backcountry is freshly covered with snow and when the white shimmering of the mountains tries to outshine the radiant blue sky.
One of the best ways to discover and enjoy the white winter wonderland is being the first one to plow through the deep snow laying the first tracks down. There can hardly be more uplifting and happy moments than creating a personal signature in the snow. What is often reserved for freeride cracks is open to all powder-fans in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis: this special destination offers 10 diverse and marked freeride routes.
For the past several years, the Tyrolean ski area Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis has offered guests and locals the possibility to gain further powder experiences on the freeride routes. 10 marked routes will guide you through the backcountry of the three mountain villages. The special feature: entries can be easily accessed through the numerous lifts. Before exploring the backcountry, info panels equipped with avalanche-check make orientation easier and help to choose proper routes next to the lift exits.
The Planseggroute is the ideal start into off-piste terrain for those with little freeride-experience. The gentle slopes below the Planseggbahn invite skiers and snowboarders to take their first powder turns. One of the more challenging routes is the Kamikaze: a 2km long track with fresh powder – fantastic freeride conditions – for intermediates who know the basics. All powder addicts will find an overview of the 10 freeride routes here including detailed information about level of difficulty and length.
It is worth getting a look at the freeski edit to get an idea of the Freeride Moments made in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. Experienced powder pros, such as Philip Ganser and Chris Zulechner show how to celebrate sprays and drops in the Tyrolean powder. And those who feel like trying how to powder appropriately know where the journey has to go this winter. Right: to Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. Keep your twin-tips and your freeride security equipment ready – the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis freeride routes promise great winter feelings!
