When you’re seeing lightly dressed freeskiers taking runs while the sun is hammering down at Pizol, you know that spring’s approaching and winter is slowly waving goodbye at the Riderpark.

At the end of the season, it’s time to enjoy riding the park to the max. So these days, a couple of highly motivated riders teamed up to figure out how their shred skills match the Riderpark Pizol. They didn’t just impress the park designer Petr Vlcek, but also the film and photo crew who were joining them.

“It was an incredible session, the level was very high. David Browne, Elia Mannhart, Ivan Alonso, Nando Riedi und Yannic Minimi nailed some jaw-dropping moves – it really felt like being in the company of pro riders,” even a couple of days after the film and photo session went down at the Riderpark Pizol, park designer Petr Vlcek is still amazed by the talented crew.

All of the freeskiers who took part in the session were locals who are virtually living at the park. “The freeskiers definitely ripped the park! They pulled off loads of amazing moves on the jib line and kept motivating each other,” cinematographer Denis Janezic smiles. Above all, he stresses the cool vibe among the riders. In the summer time he frequently visits various glaciers, so he doesn’t have to be without his beloved snow. “Since I keep shredding throughout the summer, the end of the season doesn’t really bother me that much.”

Besides the pleasant temperatures, Daniel Ausweger, pilot of the drone, also had nothing but praise for the shape crew of the Riderpark Pizol: “The park’s very well shaped. You can see the crew has put a lot of thought and energy into creating the park. Plus, we were even having a completely chilled-out BBQ on the day of the session!” He was also impressed by the riders tearing it up: “The freeskiers were pretty good, they pulled off some mind-blowing moves!”

Petr is going to miss his work at the Riderpark Pizol, as he states: “I love my job, the mountains and shredding in particular. I will certainly miss my crew and the Pizol locals.” Petr’s highlight of the season 2015/16 was his dream of becoming a park designer finally worked out! “I really enjoyed realizing my concept with the shapers at the Riderpark and I hope all the freeskiers had an amazing time shredding the park as well.”
