Events come in all shapes and sizes. Last weekend, the International Freeride Film Festival wasn’t the largest festival in Europe, but it had a profound impact.

Maybe it is the way they do everything in their own way and debunk the traditions, or maybe it is the warm hearts of the local Pyrenean’s welcoming you into their villages. Either way, Cauterets and the N-PY resorts are worth a visit for all ski fans.

The common thread in all the films this year was surely the spirit of adventure. From Alaska to Japan the powder was clearly deep and something to envy, but movies like Journey to Kyrgyzstan also brought to light the variety of ways traveling through skiing can change your perspectives. Faction and Gear4Guides are doing something great here, a fun video and a very worth course, check it out below…

The Pyrenean category was take by the crew “Whats your name” for their insatiable energy and enthusiasm for their home resort. What was learnt in all the local movies was although these ski areas may not be large in skier capacity or vertical drop, they have some great peaks and can have some epic conditions when the snow comes.

The most unique part of the whole festival was certainly watching the RipCurl Movie – Revel from the thermal baths. Epic! The whole festival made us dream and talk of adventures to fill our winter. Be that be a trip to Japan or exploring the local hills, we came out pumped to explore new terrain!
