This international competition is the main place for extreme sports in Kazakhstan. Each year it makes a colossal contribution to development of snowboard and mountain ski sports. After seven years, the event has cultivated a massive community.
Gorilla Winter Jungle is the largest winter action sports event in Kazakhstan.
In 2024, Winter Jungle will take place at the very heart of Shymbulak ski resort. The entire base facility will be turned into the stage, where citizens of Almaty, foreign tourists and guests will gather. This will be the grand finale of Shymbulak’s 70th anniversary winter season. Guests of the event can expect a rich sports and musical program.
Andrey Anufriev is a regular in the Gorilla Chimba Park in Shymbulak.
Things I expect from Winter Jungle this year: a sea of smiles, new people and radical young people who will get inspiration from the event and, possibly, pick up extreme sports. Our aim is to contribute to the development of action sports in Kazakhstan!
This year the organizers decided to extend the event into a two-day festival. Alongside the traditional disciplines, such as Big Air, Jibbing and fan-favorite The Battle, a completely new one will be introduced: Jungle Cross, an elimination race on a special course.
