El Clasico – Day 1 in the Pyrenees Nobody will blame us saying that Font Romeu is one of the greatest resort in France with actually THE best snowpark with a nice kickers line and bunch of rails options.

Shapers worked pretty hard to build huge and popy kicker, a big and creative rails section with the tougher snow conditions we are facing in Europe.
Bangers Skiers Vincent Maharavo (France), Loic Doval (France), Gerard Garcia (Spain) and Markus Mathis (Switzerland), Bernat Ripoll (Spain), young local hero Enzo VALAX (France) for the snow side were hiting kickers and made the crown speachless with some BIG 72, double and a special double cork 1440 for Vince Maharavo.
After this impressive training day, tomorrow will start the ski snow battle competition at 10:00 and the overall winner will be crown as weather forecast looks pretty great.
Part of the World Snowboard Tour and the Association Freeskiing Professional, 10 europeans riders each discipline are ready to win 3 000 Euros in Prizes and get the trophy of El classico, named by riders themselves.

Accompanied by a media crew, a couple of park-addicts were showing off what’s possible at Schöneben this winter. Whoever is looking for a versatile park in mid-December should definitely check out Schöneben.
The first part of the park has currently 13 obstacles on offer and is ready for your laps. Park-designer Moritz Klammer and his crew have already equipped the park with 4 kickers, 2 tubes, 3 rails and 4 butter boxes.
On Sunday, 20th of December 2015, the time had come – this winter’s first photo and video session took its course. With perfect weather and a great atmosphere, three freeskiers kicked off the battle for the obstacles at the snowpark. They were captured by photographer Patrick Steiner and filmer Raphael Pöham. “It was cool, great weather and a perfectly shaped park! The obstacles were in top condition as well,” Raphael sums up the session.
The freeskiers were well-represented that Sunday by Florian Ribis, Elias Pöham, Lorenz Pöham and Moritz Klammer. “The first tube in the park is the coolest obstacle, you can get really creative here,” Elias says. “When the final setup is finished I will definitely come back!” His freeski-buddy was also really statisfied: “I was really surprised. In terms of design, this is certainly the best park I’ve seen so far this year.”

With so much positive feedback, we’re looking forward to the next highlight of this winter at the Snowpark Schöneben – the Battle ROJal on the 9th January 2016. Until then, Moritz Klammer and his crew will be optimizing the park on a daily basis in order to provide the best possible condition.
Enough said now! Check out the gallery, enjoy the freeski clip of the first session and get a glimpse of why our riders can’t stop raving about the park. For updates on this season and further events follow us on our website and the Facebook page.

The contest is open to all skiers. Whether you shred your local hill or you are a world traveling super pro, this is your chance to ski with 22 of the most creative and innovative riders in skiing. The submissions are open from the 1st of December, 2015 until of the 1st January, 2016 and the two Wildcards will be announced on the 1st of February, 2016.

Maybe it is the way they do everything in their own way and debunk the traditions, or maybe it is the warm hearts of the local Pyrenean’s welcoming you into their villages. Either way, Cauterets and the N-PY resorts are worth a visit for all ski fans.

The common thread in all the films this year was surely the spirit of adventure. From Alaska to Japan the powder was clearly deep and something to envy, but movies like Journey to Kyrgyzstan also brought to light the variety of ways traveling through skiing can change your perspectives. Faction and Gear4Guides are doing something great here, a fun video and a very worth course, check it out below…
The Pyrenean category was take by the crew “Whats your name” for their insatiable energy and enthusiasm for their home resort. What was learnt in all the local movies was although these ski areas may not be large in skier capacity or vertical drop, they have some great peaks and can have some epic conditions when the snow comes.

The most unique part of the whole festival was certainly watching the RipCurl Movie – Revel from the thermal baths. Epic! The whole festival made us dream and talk of adventures to fill our winter. Be that be a trip to Japan or exploring the local hills, we came out pumped to explore new terrain!
