Mathilde crushed it on the contest circuit in 2025, getting on the podium in every World Cup slopestyle she entered—including a win in Stubai and third at the Laax Open. Most notably, she defended her World Championship title at Corvatsch—yet another feather in the cap of this generational talent. Off of the contest circuit, Mathilde starred in her own documentary, She Who Flies.
This is Mathilde’s second ESOTY nod—she won once back in 2021. Five years later, Mathilde is still on top of the game—a worthy claimant to the 2025 title.
In an alternate timeline, Torm might have been “just another swerver,” a kid for whom style and the fun of skiing was more important than contest results. Or he might have been “just another contest jock,” a purveyor of cookie-cutter corks in search of podium results. But in our timeline, the hyper-talented and understated Norwegian is somehow blending the best of both of these worlds, bringing his own unique approach to the world’s top contest venues, and—as seen at the Olympics last month—changing the game in the process.
Last season, Torm also bagged clips with Faction Skis for Sugar Bowl (feat. a sneak preview of his winning Big Air trick at the Olympics) and for Capeesh’s team movie, delightfully named Catpiss.
That’s it, that’s all for this year’s European Skier of the Year contest. A big thanks to everyone who came out to vote—and see you next year!
