The Snow League, Shaun White’s head-to-head halfpipe format, will add skiing to this year’s contests with a stacked line-up of riders.

The Snow League is officially adding freeskiing to the mix, and they’re kicking things off with a stacked lineup. Sixteen of the world’s top pipe skiers—including Olympic heavyweights and young guns: Eileen Gu, David Wise, Cassie Sharpe, Fin Melville Ives and Gus Kenworthy—are set to drop in at Yunding Snow Park, China on 6 December for the league’s first-ever freeski event.

The contest follows The Snow League’s unique head-to-head, best-of-three knockout format, with skiers seeded based on global rankings. Riders must drop in from opposite walls during their first two rounds, ensuring they have to mix up their runs. The first rider to two wins advances through quarters, semis, and finals, gunning for a spot on the inaugural freeski podium and a cut of the $85,000 prize money per gender, plus points toward the season championship.

The athlete roster is stacked with halfpipe royalty:

Women: Eileen Gu, Cassie Sharpe, Rachael Karker, Zoe Atkin, Hanna Faulhaber, Amy Fraser, Svea Irving, Fanghui Li

Men: David Wise, Nick Goepper, Gus Kenworthy, Hunter Hess, Birk Irving, Brendan Mackay, Luke Harrold, Fin Melville-Ives

After the event in China, the riders regroup in Laax, Switzerland between 19-21 March for the final stop of Season One, where overall Snow League champions will be crowned and collect a slice of the $80,000 total championship purse.
