The Rebel Mitten from Level Gloves (€63.96 on levelgloves.com) is a leather mitten that blends clean style, solid warmth, and the kind of flexibility you actually need for your everyday riding. I’ve been rocking these for a while now, mostly on park laps and some street missions, and they offer a really nice balance between comfort and performance.

According to Level’s website, the Rebel Mitten has a 2,000 Thermal Certification Index, which puts it in the “standard warmth” category, down to -10°C. That basically means it’s built for everyday riding rather than the absolute coldest days. For park skiing, where you’re constantly moving, hiking, and sessioning, the warmth feels spot on.

I’d say it performs best somewhere between 0 and -15°C. On typical winter days, my hands stay warm without overheating, which is key. Even on really freezing days, they still hold up pretty well—you can definitely ski in them in very cold temperatures.

The mitten is made from waterproof goat leather. It blocks wind well and keeps moisture out while still staying soft and flexible. I really appreciate that these don’t feel stiff at all, which has sometimes been my issue with leather gloves. Grabbing skis feels natural even with the mitten shape, and the more you wear them, the more they break in and feel even better.

Inside, the combo of Fiberfill insulation and a Boa fleece lining keeps things comfortable and cozy without making the mitten feel bulky.

Design-wise, the Rebel definitely stands out. The look is inspired by American wilderness vibes, and I really like the color—it has that classic work-glove look. The burned-in Level logo gives it a premium touch.

One feature I always appreciate is the Storm Leash—super simple, but essential for me when taking your mittens off on the lift or digging through your pockets. Without it, I’d be losing them all the time.

Overall, the Rebel Mitten is a super solid choice if you’re mostly riding park, slopes, or even some backcountry, or if you just want a stylish, reliable mitten for everyday use. It’s not built for the absolute harshest conditions, but it performs well in most day-to-day situations and hits the sweet spot between warmth, mobility, and style.

Wearing the Rebel Mittens hits the spot.
