Pangea Collective drops four new character-driven FWT films

December 10, 2025

Pangea Collective has announced a set of four standalone freeride documentaries, each spotlighting a different athlete through the peaks, valleys and defining moments of the 2025 Freeride World Tour.

Rather than a traditional series, the project consists of four individual films that—taken together—offer a close-up look at what it really means to ski or ride at big-mountain freeride’s highest level. Shot across the FWT’s most iconic venues and grounded in vérité-style filmmaking, the collection mixes high-calibre action with intimate, personal narratives.

Each film digs into one rider’s internal landscape: the experiences they bring into the mountains, the hurdles they face along the way, and the headspace they occupy in the moments before dropping in. Viewed together, the four films open a rare window into a sport built on risk, resilience, creativity and the unfiltered reality of life on tour.

The collection follows four riders and their story arcs:

  • Ross Tester returns to the Tour after time away, chasing renewed joy and stability in his skiing.

  • Holden Samuels explores questions of identity and belonging as a snowboarder who grew up in a skier-only community.

  • Taylor Dobyns battles back from a season-ending crash, working to rebuild trust in her body and mind.

  • Jonathan Penfield juggles life as both an elite snowboarder and a biochemist, bringing a scientist’s precision to freeride.

Individually compelling yet complementary, the films piece together a multifaceted portrait of athletes pushing their limits—physically, emotionally and psychologically—through one consequential FWT season.

The first film, featuring Ross Tester, is dropping on 12 December. Check out the trailer below.
