Was It Real, or Just a Dream?

By: Scott Naismith November 20, 2025

Step into Amie Engerbretson’s Daydream as she takes a whirlwind 48 hour powder-filled trip to Alaska.

Less than 12 hours after receiving a last-minute call, Aime was stood on top of a perfect Alaskan face, preparing to drop in. Daydream is a film about the spontaneity and serendipity that led to a dream-like 48 hours in paradise.

A last-minute call, 48 hours in Alaska, and two perfect days of skiing—Daydream is the trip so good it feels unreal.

Daydream is a short ski film that captures the fleeting magic of a trip almost too good to be true. In the spring of 2025, a last-minute call set off a whirlwind adventure to Alaska—less than 12 hours to pack, travel, and drop into a snow-covered paradise. What followed was 48 hours of pure bliss: two perfect days, pristine conditions, and unforgettable lines. The experience was so surreal that it blurs the line between reality and fantasy, leaving the viewer wondering—was it real, or just a dream?

At its heart, Daydream is about spontaneity, serendipity, and the intoxicating beauty of powder-filled Alaskan slopes. Built entirely from footage captured over two days, the film distills the essence of dreamy skiing: effortless turns, endless smiles, and the freedom that comes from saying “yes” to the unexpected. With a tone that plays between documentary and dreamscape, Daydream celebrates the fleeting nature of perfect moments and the way skiing can transport us into another world.
