So long Destne—hello Mölltaler Glacier!
So long Destne—hello Mölltaler Glacier!
Czech freeskier Daniel Hanka’s signature event, the DaniHell Hanka Invitational, was supposed to go down this spring at his home resort of Destne v Orlickych Horach, Czechia.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of snow, the event in Destne had to be cancelled. However, Daniel’s got a backup plan. The DaniHell Hanka Invitational will now take place from 20–25 May at Austria’s Mölltaler Glacier.
Mölltal has been making a push into the snowpark scene in recent years, hosting different events and working on building up their snowpark culture. The addition of the DHI should provide a major boost to this effort.
Other than the date and location change, the format for Daniel’s invitational remains unchanged. The invited riders will shred a custom snowpark setup for a week, each producing their own individual edits from the event. Once the dust has settled, awards will be given out for the the session’s MVP and Best Edit.
