Directed by Matt Pain, the film traces Mathilde’s rise from young prodigy to global freeski icon, as she becomes the first woman to land several groundbreaking tricks and the only skier ever to claim three World Cup Crystal Globes in a single season. But She Who Flies isn’t just a highlight reel. The documentary digs into the struggles behind the success: the major knee surgery that nearly ended her career in 2017, the sudden departure of her coach, family loss, and the mental health issues that often shadow life at the top.

Through interviews with Mathilde, her family, coaches, and fellow competitors, the film paints a picture of an athlete defined as much by resilience as by raw talent. “Winning and failing are both part of becoming a better version of myself,” Mathilde says in the film. “Everything I go through shapes who I am, and I hope sharing that can inspire others.”
