Armada has added one of freeskiing’s biggest names to its roster, announcing the signing of Mac Forehand.
The two-time X Games Champion, Olympic silver medallist and two-time FIS Crystal Globe winner joins Armada’s already stacked team, bringing one of the most technically polished and recognisable styles in competitive skiing to the brand.
“I think Armada is everybody’s dream ski brand. There’s so much culture involved with this brand from Tanner and Henrik’s iconic X-Games moments to some of the best video parts ever released with Bdog and Sammy. The depth in this team is like no other ski brand out there. Just so hyped to finally be a part of Armada and really looking forward to growing with this legendary brand.” -Mac Forehand
It’s also a significant equipment change for Forehand. The 25-year-old has been riding Faction since he was 15, meaning he’s spent almost a decade on the brand’s skis. For the coming season, Mac will be riding the ARV 88 and ARV 94, with the AR ONE 130 as his boot of choice
“Mac has been on our radar for a long time now. He’s one of the most complete skiers out there, competing at the highest level, filming full segments and putting in his time in the backcountry. That variety is a huge part of Armada’s DNA and something we look for in an athlete. Most importantly, Mac loves skiing as much as anyone you’ll meet and is just an all-around great person to know and work with. We couldn’t be more stoked to welcome him on the program.” – Tom Suesskoch, VP of Brand
The move makes plenty of sense on paper for a skier whose résumé spans top-tier contests and backcountry filming. Armada says Mac will be competing as well as contributing to the brand’s creative projects, continuing its long-running connection between competitive freeskiing and skiing in front of the lens.
Welcome to Armada Mac.
