Salomon’s new Départ.02 isn’t about ticking off vert, it’s built for skiers who treat the whole mountain like a playground. Park laps, side hits, swervy lines through natural features—this ski is all about bringing maximum creativity.

With a softer flex pattern and plenty of snap underfoot, the Départ.02 keeps things lively and playful. It’s forgiving enough to press and butter, but still responsive when you want to load it up and pop.
Shape-wise, long rocker lines and a tight turning radius make it easy to pivot, slash and set up for takeoff. Whether you’re spinning onto rails, boosting kickers, or skiing switch through the park, it’s designed to feel balanced in both directions.
Visually, the départ.02 pulls from freestyle’s past and present, with its old school silhouette, bringing heaps of personality.
The Départ.02 has been built from the ground up by the Depart Crew headed by Sämi Ortlieb, including Dane Kirk and Nico Vuignier with their style of riding influencing every part of its design.
