Welcome to the future!

The youngest son in one of freeskiing’s most talented families, Jackson “Wacko” Wells has always been known as the wild one. Yesterday in Cardrona, New Zealand, Wacko lived up to his nickname. He landed the first modern quad cork on skis. (I say “modern” because of this guy, Frank Bare, who landed the first twisting quad flip all the way back in 1983.)

Wacko’s trick is a switch quad 1620—one extra rotation added to the switch triple 1260 first landed by Sammy Carlson back in 2010.
