Jérémie's vision

(In)complete | Jérémie Heitz: From steep skiing to alpinism

By: Ethan Stone October 25, 2023

Jérémie Heitz is a freerider known for his skills in extremely steep mountain terrain. In his new short “(In)complete” we get to see not only crazy skiing and climbing, but also the development of Jérémie’s career from ski racing, to the Freeride World Tour, to quitting comp skiing to revolutionize steep skiing with game-changing projects like La Liste. Jérémie is then joined by his friend and frequent ski buddy Sam Anthamatten to deliver not only breathtakingly fast lines in the steepest terrain possible, but also a glimpse into their heads in sketchy conditions and what’s actually happening behind the “ski porn” shots.

As Jérémie says: “I’m not fearless. This feeling of fear, it happens sometimes. You realize that you are doing a dangerous sport. We’re having this process by climbing up the mountains. We are skiing down, following the weather. Being out there will give you answers to a lot of questions you will have before dropping in. Suddenly you get back to Earth, after that, it’s all about fun. If you suffer and you don’t want to be there, there is no point.”

It seems that Jérémie Heitz is human after all. Sit back and enjoy this beautiful piece of art.

From YouTube: For Jérémie Heitz, a freeride project is a mission. He starts with a vision, climbs a ridge or peak under his own steam, then finishes with the perfect line down a steep, snow-covered face.

Inspired by the original legends of freeriding, the path he has taken through ski racing and the Freeride World Tour has led him to a point where he knows how to put the “free” in freeride: the freedom to evolve and learn in order to be as versatile in the mountains as possible.
