Bakhmaro | Somewhere in Georgia
Some places feel different the moment you arrive. Bakhmaro feels something else even before you get there. As you make your way deeper into the mountains, you already start to realize that this is going to be something special.
We spent a week at Riders Lodge Bakhmaro, surrounded by huge mountains, endless snow and a place that feels almost completely untouched.
Barbara, the boss of the lodge, made this trip incredibly special and gave us the perfect base to explore Bakhmaro and its legendary snow. From endless powder runs and incredible terrain to full days of cat skiing and chasing the best lines we could find—this place had everything we came for.
And then there was Aslan. Our cat operator, guide and probably one of the best cat drivers in all of Georgia. He somehow always managed to find another line, another face and another run. We lost count of how many laps we did.
But Bakhmaro is about much more than skiing. It’s the locals, the people at the lodge, the hospitality and the feeling of being somewhere that still feels raw, remote and incredibly authentic.
A magical place. The best kind of powder adventure. And one week we definitely won’t forget.
