The Dakine Heli Backpack has been a backcountry staple, trusted by backcountry riders for three decades, and now it’s getting an update.
The Heli 2.0 Pro, builds on the DNA of the legendary backpack, designed for riders heading further into the mountains, with added safety features and storage options for serious days in the backcountry.
Dakine are dropping this updated classic alongside a short 16mm film shot by Tyndall Wells, following Laurent De Martin on some record-breakingly deep days in Honshu, Japan.
The updated range includes integrated RECCO technology for improved searchability in an emergency, alongside dedicated storage and ski and snowboard carry systems. It’s designed to handle everything from carrying the essentials on a quick mission to gearing up for bigger days further off the grid.
Importantly, the Heli 2.0 Pro comes in a range of capacities and physical sizes. So, alongside choosing how many litres you need, riders can also find a pack that fits their torso properly, including smaller-sized options for those who find standard backpacks too long or bulky.

Thirty years on, the Heli name is still going strong, just with a few more modern backcountry essentials built in. Find out more at Dakine’s european website.
