A powerhouse squad of Faction Skis riders took the stage at the High Five Festival last Friday in Annecy for the global premiere of “The Collective.” The movie is now on tour worldwide — click here for a full tour schedule.

Faction rolled into Annecy last weekend with a big crew in tow, from the Swiss trio of Sarah Hoefflin, Mathilde Gremaud and Giulia Tanno were in town to check out their new all-girl segment, while Ben Buratti, Tim Sivignon, Alex Ghisleni and filmmaker Etienne Merel held it down for France. Antti Ollila, Alex Hall and Dan Hanka also made the trip out to watch their new movie play for a packed crowd in the Cinéma Pathé.

We’ll have a full review up soon, but it suffices to say for now that this film packs all the action you could ever expect from the endlessly deep talent pool of the Faction team. There’s the sunset shoot to end all sunset shoots in Folgefonna, crazy bangers from the likes of Ollila, A-Hall and co. and a jaw-dropping big mountain segment from Sam Anthamatten and Andrew Pollard that will have even the most diehard park rats reconsidering their priorities.

Faction has a long history of head-turning team videos. From their first full-length movie “This is Home” in 2017 and hearkening back to the groundbreaking “We are the Faction Collective” cuts from 2014, the upstart ski company has always put its athletes’ video talents in the foreground.

“Feature films are part of the magic for us,” says Alex Hoye, co-founder and CEO of Faction. “It allows us to share athletes’ stories and encourage people to get together and share the stoke in real life.”

“This film really celebrates the power of collective spirit,” reports director Etienne Mérel. “It started with a simple question: why is it fun to ski with your friends? And as we started to tackle that question together, we began to delve deeper into more human ideas of collectiveness. Are the moments we spend together more memorable than those we spend alone? Can having your friends around you push you to become a better skier? We’re now looking forward to extending those themes to cinema audiences around the world, and welcome them to the story!”

“The Collective” is now officially out of the box and premiering soon in over 500 locations and 30 countries around the globe. Highlight premieres include showings on October 10 in Salt Lake City and Paris, but don’t fret if you can’t make them, because there’s probably a tour stop going down close to you.
