The fall snowpark season is heating up at Kitzsteinhorn in Austria’s Salzburg region. A longtime player in the freestyle scene, Kitzs built its first park in 1990, and began operating one of Austria’s best fall glacier snowparks in 2006. International stars are currently in town for the Superpipe Training Weeks, while the glacier park is in full swing with easy, jib and kicker lines. Here’s a quick overview of the fall 2019 setup at Kitzsteinhorn.

Glacier Park: the “Skatepark of Snow”

The team around head shaper Martin Liebmann has again built a playful and diversified fall snowpark setup on the glacier plateau. The setup currently features over 25 jib features, as well as an easy to medium jump line, and will stay open until January 2020. As soon as conditions allow, the shapers will begin work on Kitzsteinhorn’s additional winter park setups: the Easy Park in December, Central Park in January and South Central Park in February.

Superpipe: Training Hot Spot

From October until December, Kitzsteinhorn offers one of the world’s few premiere training grounds for halfpipe athletes. The 150-meter long, 22-foot pipe is cut daily by Alli Zehetner, and plays host to national teams from around the world during the Superpipe Training Weeks. After the training weeks, the pipe will open to the public beginning 4 December 2019.
