Tim Durtschi Joins The Freeride World Tour

By: Jake Fojtik December 02, 2019

American freerider Tim Durtischi will join the Freeride World Tour as a wildcard for the 2020 season.

Durtschi should be a household name to Downdays readers. The 33-year-old has been a staple in the freeride world, from his X Games Real Ski segment to competing in the  Red Bull Linecatcher event, and a long career as a film athlete with segments in movies by Poor Boyz, Field Productions, and Teton Gravity Research, notching more video segments than we can mention here.

"I have thought about this for some time now and I am super excited to compete in the FWT this year!" reports Tim. "I am excited to put my skills to the test amongst an amazing field of freeriders. I feel like my experience in the film world has prepared me for this moment and I look forward to this experience!"

Drawing from his experience in both the steep, technical terrain and throwing doubles off backcountry kickers, Durtschi is a perfect fit on the already-stacked line up of athletes on the FWT 2020 roster. We’re psyched to see what he can bring to the tour in 2020.

The FWT did a quick Q&A with Tim to get his thoughts on joining the tour - check it out here.
