Already the title ‘Superpark’ is quite a big deal, as season after season, it has to live up to its name and convince freeskiers again and again. So for this winter, park designer Pavel Stratil came up with some extraordinary setup ideas and creative combo lines. His special at the end section is meant to delight all shred heads. Just recently, the Blue Tomato team riders tested the final setup 2017. Has it met their expectations? Let’s find out.

So far, the season at Schladming-Dachstein has gone well for park designer Pavel Stratil. In four consecutive build-up phases the funpark once again turned into the Superpark Planai. Thus Pavel was looking forward to the setup checkout by the Blue Tomato team riders and you can tell that, prior to the film and photo shoot, the 27 obstacles were polished:

During the season we got heaps of compliments for the creative setup. Therefore I’m extremely excited how these guys will shred the park

So it was the February 14, 2017, when Martin Hauck and Tim van Dyck met up at Superpark Planai to put the setup to the acid test. After the session, Blue Tomato Team rider Martin Hauck (freeski) shared his thoughts:

First and most importantly – did you have fun at the park shoot?

Martin: “Definitely: bluebird, a high riding level and lots of stylish tricks were shown. In total, a full success, I’d say!”

What’s your opinion about this year’s setup of the Superpark?

Martin: “The jib section of the park is rad. Like the other riders, I was stoked about the bowl in the end section. Another obstacle on which you can get really creative on is the wallride. The crew really did a good job here.”

From a rider’s perspective, what makes the Superpark Planai special?

Martin: “Thanks to the lift that is so close by you can take numerous runs in just one day, for one. Another point that makes the park special is the vast variety of obstacles. The setup is rather made for beginners and intermediates, as for advanced riders this means that you can really have fun and chilled sessions here, which in between the trainings is a very welcome and necessary change.”

This sounds like the Superpark Planai and the shape crew lead by Pavel splendidly passed the test.

The current setup is available on the newly relaunched Superpark Planai website. If you want to check out the park and give the crew your approval, jump on the messageboard in the new app for iPhone und Android. Or you log into Facebook or Instagram and leave your comments and likes there.
