Lucas Mangold is one of a handful of up-and-coming rippers in the Tyrol scene to keep an eye on. He’s one of those guys that’s equally comfortable hitting a park booter and lacing up a backcountry line. Since he spent last season focusing on BC filming for the first time, he’s calling this his “rookie season” edit — and as a “rookie” this ain’t a bad way to make a splash. Nope, not bad at all.

 

2018 was my first entire season of focusing on filming in the backcountry. I was quite lucky the Projekt Pommes let me join forces and took me to the sweetest terrain Tyrol has to offer. To top it all we finished the season with a trip to Bergsfjord Lodge in northern Norway. Blue Skies and unlimited daylight made us ski pretty much non-stop.Couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish off a banger season! -Lucas
