Today from the "What the hell did I just watch?" department...

When we stumbled upon this video, we just had to Google Richard Schabl. Turns out that our boy Richie was a star on the freestyle skiing scene in the 1980s, complete with his own Wikipedia entry and a legacy that includes not only pioneering the “one-handed pole flip” (see video above, complete with a pole twirl) but a truly odd world record as well: 22 pole-flip front flips on a revolving carpet in one minute.

Yet the story runs even deeper. Richard’s incredible website documents this freestyler’s career and continuing journeys, complete with some revealing personal information: “Looks like 25; feels like hell” and “Home: Planet Earth, Milky Way.”

Thank you for specifying, Richard. For a minute there, we weren’t sure.
