With movies like 2011’s “All.I.Can” and 2013’s “Into the Mind,” Sherpas Cinema established themselves as one of the most soulful and innovative production companies working in skiing today. They’re even responsible for what’s considered the most-watched urban ski segment ever. So even if Sherpas may rub some in the core crowd the wrong way—in the vein of “too much story, not enough gnar”—it’s still hard to deny that these guys are at the top of their game.

Their latest short film, “Children of the Columbia,” follows skiers Dane Tudor and Christina Lustenberger as they trace the course of the mighty Columbia River north from Rossland into the heart of interior British Columbia, and the mountains get bigger and the skiing rowdier along the way.
